Accreditation & Approvals

IDI holds institutional and program-specific accreditations that reflect our commitment to educational excellence and student success.

Overview

Our Accreditations

Your degree should open doors — not raise questions. IDI's accreditations mean your education is recognized by the institutions that matter: the U.S. Department of Education, the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, and the employers who hire our graduates.

Our institutional accreditation from ACCSC confirms that every program we offer meets national standards for educational quality, student support, and measurable outcomes. Our BA program's CIDA accreditation goes further — it's the mark that top design firms and state licensing boards look for when evaluating candidates.

We're approved to operate by the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education and approved by the U.S. Department of Education for Title IV Federal Financial Aid. Translation: your investment is protected, and funding is accessible.

IDI has maintained continuous CIDA accreditation since 1992.

The Avocational Certificate Course, the Associate of Arts Degree in Interior Design, the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design, and the Master of Interior Architecture Degree Programs are accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools & Colleges. The U.S. Department of Education lists ACCSC as a nationally recognized accrediting agency.

Interior Designers Institute is approved to offer all programs as hybrid (online/in-person) for California residents. Interior Designers Institute is a private institution approved to operate by the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education. Approval to operate means compliance with the minimum state standards as set forth in the California Private Post Secondary Act 2009 (as amended), California Education Code (CEC), Division 7.5 of Title 5, California Code of Regulations (CCR).

The Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design Program is accredited by Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA). Interior Designers Institute reserves the right to change, modify or disassociate the college from any current accrediting agency or institution without prior notice.
